Wrapped up in you

I keep writing these, and not posting them. They're too wrapped up in you and that bothers me. I don't understand why, it's lingering on crazy.

"You identify to it with your guy, not your head"

I'm watching to Academy Awards, and that is how someone referred to a good movie. I instantly thought of Titanic. Judge all you want, but it is still my favorite movie. I remember when I first watched it I went home and dreamed about it. I saw it at least 6 times in the theater. Every time I caught something new. If only Rose had done so and so then Jack would have survived. I shared that theory with a friend the other day and he just looked at me. He said he doesn't look deeper into the movie than what it was. I didn't know that was a Mandy thing. I emotionally attach myself to characters. Wonder where they went when the film stopped. I'm still not over Dawson's Creek. I had to stop watching Ally McBeal so I could remember her with Larry. This is probably not normal, but a part of me will always be a little in the clouds. I believe in romance and happy endings. I believe in soul mates. I am so sure HE is out there. I have never doubted that for a second-see, I told you he was lingering on crazy.

All the men seem right at the beginning, it's the middle that really counts. Make it count. It could be over before you know it, because Mr. Right Now, may not be Mr. Right Forever. Regardless of how much you wish he would was. It doesn't have to make sense.

Apples to Apples

Yay for a good weekend! Friday after work Carly, Ryan and I went to Chillis for a couple drinks. Then I came home and tried to catch up on chores or homework. Neither happened. Saturday Carly, Jen and I spent the day in Boulder. We were shopping on Pearl St. and just having a girl day. From there we went to Eric's Christmas party. It was a nice evening for sure. After the party Carly, Brad, Kenyon and I went to James's house to play Apples to Apples until oh, 3:00am. Sunday I went to Pink Berry with Ashley, Sloan, Louissa and Tessa. Tessa is engaged! CONGRATS! I made it home just in time to see the Broncos win AGAIN :)! I attempted to pretend I wanted to do homework then went to Kenyon's to watch Star Wars. The second one is a lot better than the first one. When I got home I actually did do homework...sorta like I am now. Sorta. Fear Factor is on, so I'm more than excited!!!

Whoa even typing what I did this weekend is a lot. I'm not gonna lie I love being busy. It's going to be strange not having grad school for two weeks, and being in Ohio in a little more than a week. It doesn't seem real. Must stop procrastinating and finish homework. Have a good night!

Oh this is worth a look:

Seriously, this would be funny if it wasn't real. Guys: This is why girls refer to some of you as creepers.

Over the river and...

Writing this is better than doing my homework. Much better. I'm so bad at this grad school thing. I have to have to have to get my homework done tonight. My grandma is in town this weekend (yay!) so I won't have time for homework. That's not completely true but I'd rather spend my Sunday at Carly's watching movies. Even though the movies are Star Wars...yeah there is a story there. Regardless I'm really looking forward to the family packed weekend! :)

I ran longer than I ever have this week. It was only for 18 minutes, but that's a heck of a lot longer than I could run a month ago. I guess this going to a gym thing is working out for me. Good thing to, because it takes up A LOT of my time. Goal: 5k this year. Eventually I want to run a half marathon. Next year? I think that's a realistic goal.

Ok Mandy stop procrastinating!!!!

Night at the museums

Tonight was a good night. All of the Denver museums were free. So Aaron, Chris, Gabe, and Vince all spent the night museum crawling. We didn't make it to as many as we wanted to, but we managed to get to 3 of them. We started at the Art Museum, I'm not a fan of that museum, but still cool. Then we went to the Evans something or another? Evidently a haunted house, really though it just seemed like an old house. Lastly, we headed to the History Museum. They have a big T-Rex exhibit. I liked the Raptor robot, but I would. We ended the night at Stubens. It was interesting being the only girl, but what makes it more interesting is Gabe teaches a class on how to talk to Mr. Right. Yeah, I know right? The things he said were pretty spot on, apparently I'm doing certain thing wrong. I just know I like seeing the guy perspective on things. All in all I had a lot of fun. They are a good group of guys.

Today I realized I haven't gone out drinking since my Birthday. I feel like I'm getting back to me. I had been going out every week for a long time. Which is fine, if that's your thing. But it was more his thing than it ever was mine. I'm more of a every once in a while kinda girl. All in all things are getting back to normal and I'm enjoing it.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a Star Wars movie marathon. I know right? I haven't heard from the friends though so maybe not? I just cant see Carly and Kenny dropping it though--apparently I'm missing out on a life shaping experience by having never seen those movies. I doubt that, but I probably should make sure.

So all is well here-cheers to that,

baby Joyce

It's not about figuring out how to wait, of course. But about living, fully, even while you're waiting for whatever it is you think you want.
-London is the Best City in America
It was a great weekend. Friday I went to Jacksons. Ok.....not going to lie, that was a little to much of my past creeping into my future.  I could physically feel myself removing my rose tinted glass and not regretting leaving that all behind. Regardless, I love that place. You can't have it.
Saturday was Ashley's babyshower, and I think it went really well :) Huge shout out to Louisa and Cassie. Three people putting on a shower was a great idea! Ashley is adorable (see above) and I look fat, that dress is not flattering. Good to know. I am so excited to meet baby Joyce. Crossing my fingers for a Libra!
Thank you all for stopping by
But as I am a little shy.
I thought today I'd stay away
Mommy said that its ok.
Friendship is so hard to measure
But something mommy (and daddy) will treasure.
I hope to see you very soon,
Because in here there ain't much room.
Love from Baby Joyce.
Sunday I went and saw Crazy, Stupid Love. There are scenes that make your heart break. Then there are scenes where you are hurled over crying because you are laughing so hard. It's worth seeing. Then we went and saw Ferris Beuler's day off...in the park. It was such a Denver evening.
So sorry friends sorry I have been MIA. I didn't realize how exhausting starting a new job really is. I'm really liking it though. Cheers to that! I live in the bubble of downtown. Seriously...I don't get to burbs often. It's a different pace that's for sure.
I'm getting my hair cut on Saturday. I'm thinking bangs. I'll keep you updated.
“Some things are so impossible, so fantastic, that when they happen, you are not at all surprised. Their sheer impossibility has made you imagine them too many times in your head, and when you find yourself on that longed-for moonlit path, it seems unreal but still, somehow, familiar. You dreamed of it, of course; you know it like a memory.”

Borders

I have started to post here a couple times, then didn't have anything to say. Other than to re-cap my weekend which I feel like I ALWAYS do. Is there really more for me to talk about? ha

I LOVED  HARRY POTTER. I laughed. I cried. I refuse to accept that it's over.

During the week I have been training and it takes up all my time. All consuming--I come home and just want to sleep. I should start working on Friday? I think? Idk-I'm nervous. I know we have been learning a lot, but it's still going to be intimidating to start working. Always scary starting something new.

In sad news: Borders is closing. It's the end of an era. I remember being little like 6, and spending time in the children's section (insert amazing pop-up doll house books). I pretty much lived there growing up. Then when I was older I was about to spend about a year and half working there. LOVED it-only left because I moved. The books and the co-workers made it great, and I'm said to see a part of my past close. It truly is the end of an era. My thoughts and prayers go out to all my co-workers who lost their jobs.

In other book news: w/ Borders closing I ordered my first Kindle. I just don't have room for books in my small apartment. I know...this is what killed Borders (and that my friends, breaks my heart). So yea, I'll let you know what I think of it. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. I feel like I have gone to the dark side though.

So if you didn't notice from previous posts I found a website with tons of quote pictures---so I'll be posting the ones that caught my attention. OOO I found a all plaque that I adore! It simply states "I love the thought of you and me" It's hanging right when you walk into my apartment.

In regards to the weekend? It was great really good :)

Harry Potter Week!

...yes, he gets a week.

I'm procrastinating on studying for tomorrow. I know right? It's like I'm in school again. How's the new job going? It's good. I no longer dread getting up in the morning and going to a place I can't stand. I'm not banging my head against the desk, or complaining non-stop to my way too supportive friends. I'm meeting some cool people, and learning a lot. Really, it's over load. I could go on a rant about how much better this job is, but I don't think my blog is a proper place to do that. Call me--I'll fill you in.

This weekend was good. Catch-up time with Ashley and Cole. HI ASHLEY! Man, I missed them. We watched Weeds...which I sorta love a lot. I did other stuff too, but it's all a blur. I think this past 3 weeks has been a whirl-wind and I'm just along for the ride.

Jessica asked me to be in her wedding! I'm really honored and excited--more than willing to wear Ohio State colors for her. We have been planning this since 8th grade :)

Harry Potter this week! Yes, I will be at the midnight showing...in 3D. To say I'm excited is true, but I'm also sad. I don't want it to end! Ok I must go study before I fall asleep....ooh oh oh! I forced my oven to work! Well I managed to make pizza...and it didn't burn! The fire alarm didn't go off. Gas Oven-2 Mandy-1 Don't worry people I'll catch up!

Definitely,,,maybe.

You know what I love about movies? They never change, but how you see them does. I watched Garden State today---and I loved it. Maybe even more than I did years ago. (Yes, years. It's tied to my past.) Right now I'm watching Definitely Maybe. I have always liked this movie, but now I REALLY like this movie. I can relate to it in a way I never could before. Again with me relating to things....it's probably not a good thing. Maybe it is though? Isn't that the beauty of life? The whole not being sure where things are headed?

Have you ever sang out loud in the middle of a Good Times at 2:30am? If not do so immediately. It's sure to be a good time!

I went to this chalk festival today. Awesome work---just WAY too many people. Still look. Cool huh?

Reason number 5928395 I love Denver. It's a happy detour.

24.6

When did girls become stupid? I mean seriously? I acknowledge I am a complete idiot when it comes to relationships. I have accepted that, and really the only person it hurts is myself-so I can deal with that.  BUT when other people are acting like idiots I want nothing more than to knock sense into them! Step back from the situation and look at what you're doing! AH! I'm so annoyed. It's the same old story everybody know...why can't you see that!?!?!!?!

...and ok, maybe I'm not just hurting myself. I still feel bad for that you know? You deserved a conversation as much as I deserved some warning. Perhaps it evens out? Probably not, but for what its worth I am sorry. Awkward conversations and I don't mix well. In fact I would rather just avoid them indefinitely.  It's a problem and I am working on it.

*Changing Subjects*

If you ever have the opportunity to watch The Kings Speech I think you should!!!!! It's just really good. AND Collin Firth is amazing in it. So see it--you won't regret it :)

I was really excited for 24. I'm not sure why. I just like the number I suppose? ANYWAYS. I was excited, and It's been...fine. But not what I was expecting? (What the heck was I expecting??) I think I have spent a lot of this year avoiding things I should have faced head on. So for the next 5 months, I'm going to face things and say it like it is. I know somethings are un-fixable at this point, and that is what it is. Lessons learned.

Country Strong

Country Strong is a stupid movie..and I'm only 5 minutes into it. The first 5 minutes are important. Just like first impressions-they set the stage for whats to come. At least it's not as bad as Air Bender aka dumbest of dumb movies.

Speaking of movies, I saw Something Borrowed again today with my cousin. I loved it more this time. I can't get over how much I relate to the main character, not that in this case its a good thing. It's just kind of where I am at with things. She liked it, just didn't love it. My mom didn't love it either. Again, they can't relate to Rachel. Lucky them.

All in all it was a good weekend, I'm  really looking forward to a a 3.5 day break after next week. I have been writing this entry off and on...so it's been like an hour? The movie is a little better, but I still wouldn't call it good by any means.

I watched Sex and City today, and loved it per usual. Perhaps I should re-watch the series? Do I have time for that? After Dawson's Creek I hesitate to make a commitment to another series. I'll ponder this. In the mean time enjoy a quote from the show.

Mr. Big: Hey, have you got a light?
Carrie: I quit.
Mr. Big: Aw, we always used to share a cigarette together.
Carrie: We did a lot of things that were bad for me together.

Oh, Carrie.  I couldn't have said it better myself.
