HaLLoWeeN
WOW What a busy month is has been. I turned 25, my best friend came to town, my uncle was here, Halloween, and don't forget I started grad school and joined a gym. Yeah, that's all I can come up with right now.
I have a lot of pictures I should post here, but I also have a paper to write. Thus, pictures have to wait.
My Birthday was pretty great. Cindy and I spent the day in Boulder then we met up with a bunch of co-workers for happy hours. That night we were at Jackson's. So much fun! We ended up dancing with a bunch of guys from Kent State. What a small world! Then we went to 1UP and played Jenga. The next day it was up bright and early to do the Denver Zombie Crawl. Craziness and intense just about sums that up. That night Cindy and I had a hard time staying awake so we ended up just going to Benny's and had a girls night. LOVE her and I was VERY happy she came to visit :)
Next comes Halloween, it was a lot of fun! Carly, James, Jen, Kenny, and I all went to 13th Floor Haunted House. It wasn't the best haunted house, but it was still really fun. After we ended up at Kenny's studio to watch a British zombie movie. Shaun of the Dead I think? It was...interesting. Let's just leave it at that.
Other than that, just busy :)

It's My Birthday!!!!
Twenty Five Things I Have Learned in Twenty Five Years
1. Closure is a luxury. Sometimes things end and you never understand why.
2. Don’t take your high school boyfriend to college.
3. Sororities are as bad as everyone says they are.
4. You cannot be just friends with someone you are in love with.
5. Religion can unite people, but it tears just as many people apart.
6. When you’re hurt emotionally feel it completely. Get it out of your system.
7. Murphy’s Law is real.
8. Sometimes you just need your mom, and that’s ok.
9. Everyone should move away from “home” and grow into the person they were meant to become.
10. Don’t underestimate how important “old” friends are. They knew the person you were and love the person you are.
11. You never get over your first love. Not completely. Take comfort in the fact that you do get over the rest.
12. Once a liar ALWAYS a liar.
13. Knock on wood.
14. You like your siblings more when you don’t live together.
15. Not being a dog person doesn’t make you a bad person.
16. Nothing takes you back to a moment like a song or the smell of cologne.
17. Sex and the City is the answer to every relationship question.
18. Being single is better than being in the wrong relationship.
19. Just because someone tells you they love you (or that they like you), doesn’t obligate you to say or feel it back. When you say I love you mean it with 100% certainty.
20. Don’t settle for less than butterflies.
21. College is not the best years of your life.
22. Don’t date engineers. EVER. For any reason. Doesn’t matter how cute they are.
23. If a guy doesn’t have the nerve to make the first move, they probably aren’t worth your time.
24. You never get over the death of a loved one. You just learn to live without them.
25. Quotes can get you through anything.

yarn
Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is a PUBLIC blog and I shouldn't go into the details.
A visual I have always used about my life is a ball of yarn. When things are figured out and I have got it all together the yarn is in a nice ball. When things are...complicated the yarn is in a tangled mess. This can be used for any part of my life. While I try to figure things out I'm detangling the yarn. Of course this process takes a long time. Yet it only takes seconds, or one sentence to tangle everything up again. It makes me stop to think did I have it as under control as I thought I did? If It was in a tight ball it should take more than a small gesture to destroy it. Thus this leads me to the conclusion that i'm good at pretending everything is sorted out.
You said everything is going to be ok. Call me dumb, but I believe you.
A week from today I'm old. Kinda, I know it's only 25. This is the first year I'm not counting down seconds until my Birthday. I just haven't had the time. I started Grad School, joined a gym and don't forgt about the many car registration/plates/drivers lisence issues to sort out. It's hard to beleive Cindy will be here is less than 1 week! AHH! Winning.

"I learned a lot this year. I learned that things don't always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And I've learned that there are things that go wrong that don't always get fixed or get put back together the way they were before. I've learned that some broken things stay broken, and I've learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you." -jennifer weiner

Education and Public Policy
I am officially a student again. I just finished my homework for the night, yup homework. It's as bad as I remembered it to be. Fortunatly, I am in the program with friends. We are suffering through it together :)
Things have been really busy. I FINALLY have a CO lisence! I am also a registered Republican. It hurt for a second giving up Ohio voting privledges, but it was time. Now I just need to get plates for my car and I will be good to go!
Life has been a blurr. The weekend went by in the blink of an eye. Ellie moved. I had volunteering and a girls night. Oh did I mention I joined a gym? Apparently starting gradschool wasn't enough. Busy is an understatement for how things are right now.
So yeah, just watched to check in.

Dark Blue
Have you ever been alone in a crowded room?
My favorite is leaving Denver tomorrow. I'm beyond sad about this. I was talking to Cindy Lou last night and she was like..oh I get it. When something starts for you something else has to end. Grad school is starting so I'll be busy, but my favorite is leaving, and that sucks. Tonight is Jacksons, and it's going to be AWESOME. I promise I'll have stories.
This song brings me back, and takes me forward. I just genuinely like it.

Sorry I can't get the video to show up on my page right now. Lame.
Also, don't get me started on the CO DMV.
Have a great weekend kids!

"that's what people do -- they move into their new life and disassemble the old life in some ungrateful way and leave it out by the curb. like it never served any purpose at all. like self-preservation is some frivolous little thing." - Girls' Poker Night by Jill A. Davis
In other news. Wanna know how I know I live in CO? I just joined a Gym. Because, you know I have time to work full time, be a full time graduate student, AND go to a gym everyday. I'll make it work. I am better busy. Though it may interfere with watching Vampire Diaries...This song brings me back, and takes me forward. I just genuinely like it.
