Orlando Vacation

Tom and I went to Florida for our Anniversary/ Christmas. I'm so glad we went the trip option because we had so much fun! We left late Friday and were at the park Saturday morning. We kicked off the trip with time at Magic Kingdom. It's completely cheesy. There were kids and characters everywhere. Honestly we enjoyed it for most of the day then we were very ready for something with less kids. We went to Animal Kingdom which was practically empty. We walked onto Everest 2x. I think its the best ride Disney has. SO much fun! Then we wandered around in the dark and rode whatever we wanted without having strollers attack us. We went
back to Magic Kingdom for a parade but then passed out. The next day we started at Hollywood Studios. We really thought we were going to like that park but we didn't. It was really crowded so we rode Tower of Terror and watched a Beauty and the Beast play. Then it was off to Epcot. We LOVED Epcot. We were able to eat and drink out way around the world while celebrating a Broncos win! Super Bowl here we come :) Needless to say we were exhausted. The next day we had some time before our flight so we went to Cocoa Beach and ate lunch with the locals at a beach front bar. We want to go back but not until we have our own kids. So later rather than sooner.

Everything is a go for the apartment. I told you about the apartment right? We are moving in one month. So we are going to be busy. Then we want to go to Denver in March and hopefully elope soon after that. Yup. After a lot of thought and consideration that is what we want to do. We will have our families with us but we aren't going to do a wedding. It is just not something either of us really want to do. I'm more excited for the marriage and the places we want to go. I don't need a big expensive party to do that. So that is one less wedding my friends will have to sit through. Your welcome?

Catching up

Hi friends!

Sorry for my lack of posts. I'm on the computer so much at work that I hate looking at my lap top once I get home.  Posts will become more frequent, maybe.

Life has been good. We had a really nice trip to Arizona. I was able to meet some of Tom's friends and spend a lot of time with his family. I really like his family. I'm really excited to have a sister too! Jessica and I are only 10 months apart in age so that makes it even better. They have all been very interested in helping with the wedding and are excited. Eee! I'm going to be a Martin. Mandy Martin has a nice ring to it. lol

Which leads us to the wedding. Its so difficult to plan when my family is in Ohio, Tom's family is in Arizona and a lot of our friends are in Colorado. It doesn't have that we have no emotional connection to Dallas. SO we are going to do a VERY small wedding in New Orleans, Louisiana. So everyone will be traveling...even us! Now let me say that we do mean small. We are only inviting close family and a few friends. Please do not be offended if you are not invited. We would love to have everyone but we don't want to spend that much money on one day when we have bigger plans for our marriage.  We also know that it is a lot to ask of guests. Air fair, hotel and misc expenses throughout the weekend. We don't want our friends to feel they need to go through all of that.

Why New Orleans? Tom and I loved it when we went on vacation. It's a really pretty city with a lot to do. It's a little different and has great food. We will be able to have fun with it. We want an October 2014 wedding. Hopefully 10/11/14 but that will depend on a venue. It is a work in progress.

We found an apartment that we really like in a fun area. It reminds me a bit of Denver. We will have two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a loft. Woo hoo!!! SPACE! We are going to go see the exact apartment tonight. Hopefully everything goes well and we can move in next month. So over our current place.  This move will also greatly reduce my commute. Cheers to that!

Other than that Tom has been sick with a nasty cold. This is the second day he took off work. Poor guy :( I'm hoping I don't catch it. We leave for Disney World this Friday after work. I don't want to be sick for that.

Congrats to the Denver Broncos for making it passed the second round of the play offs! I am so proud!

We're getting married!

Tom proposed on Christmas morning.
It was just the two of us and he said he had one more present for me.
He went and got the ring and bent down on one knee.
I couldn't tell you exactly what he said.
It's such a blur of happiness.
The ring is beautiful.
I'm just so excited to spend the rest of my life with Tom.
I get to marry my favorite person!
