I wanted you more

I argue with myself a lot, but when I finally make a decision I do not change my mind. I decided I was going to move to Denver and I did. I'm making big decisions again. Nothing is confirmed...I need to do a lot more research. I was talking about it with my mom and she told me not to get ahead of myself---it's a dumb argument. I ALWAYS get ahead of myself. From what I was saying she could tell the decisions already been made. I'm not so convinced, but she is probably right.

Have I told you I graduate in 9 weeks? SINGLE DIGITS BABY!  I am trying to plan a trip to Seattle at the end of September and Washington DC in November. Just have to get to graduation then the fun begins! :)

I saw the above e card and laughed for a solid minute. It shouldn't be funny, but Hunger Games should have been a horror movie. Sometimes things don't make sense. I hope all of my work friends appreciate it.

Bedrock

What is hardest to accept about the passage of time is that the people who once mattered the most to us are wrapped up in parentheses.

-John Irving, The Cider House Rules

Whoa time is flying!

Friday night I was exhausted. It was just a long day. I will leave it at that.

Saturday Natalie, Kenyon, and I went out. We met up with Cathy and Jen. It was sooo much fun! Just historical. Frogger, bedrocking, Giant jenga and all that fun stuff. Think we scared poor Hermione half to death, or at least my neighbors.

This past weekend was also Easter. I spent the early part of the day with Uncle Jack then the whole Colorado family had a big dinner. It was good to see everyone! No crazy stories stand out in my mind like they have in the past.

Other than that I am excited my two favorite authors have books coming out in the next few weeks. Great book overload!!!! Bring it on. If everything goes according to plan in my MAED I will graduate Labor Day weekend. Anyone say P-A-R-T-Y?

"Things just don’t work out. That’s the most simple explanation for life. You can’t dwell on why something that didn’t or shouldn’t have happened, but it did. So just move on. You can sit there crying over some boy who did you wrong, or you can go out and live life to its fullest. Everyone needs reasons why things are the way that they are, but over thinking over powers your brain. It gets you hanging onto the past when what you really need to be doing is moving forward and focusing on greater things. When things don’t work out, find something that will."

Eyes Open

“There is a sense in which I am pretty sure this makes no sense. I don’t know where this is going. I don’t know how it ends.”

I'm neglecting this blog this month. My sincere apologies. Beware this blog is all over the place.

I'm taking concurrent courses again. I actually like these classes, I would like anything that is not a research class. I just got Harriet Evan's new book. I'm trying to find time for joy reading. I miss joy reading, and quotes. I used to read quotes at least an hour a day. I still read a couple quotes a day, but it is not nearly as many as I would like. Grad school ruins everything-how fast can I be done? August or September. Bye bye summer.

Saint Patrick's Day was a lot of fun. The day consisted of a little drinking and a bad parade. No, it was not any better than last year. That night I went to The Front Porch because I could drink for free then it was off to Jackson's. Ryan finally made me leave. Me him Kirk and Jen all went to the Mellow Mushroom then poor Ryan had to get my home. All in all it was a successful day

I had a meeting at work today and we were talking about draining relationships. It got us talking about forgiveness. I think people forgive people that don't deserve it because they want them in their life. I have been in that situation, I think I'm faced with that situation now. It's difficult because I don't forgive well. I have a hard time letting go of things and moving on with a clean slate. I want to though, does that count? No, probably not.

"Whenever something happens that is not part of your plan, you pretend like it doesn't exist. You act like you're in this movie about your perfect life. Then I have to remind you the only one watching that movie is you."

I'm reading a book about letting go. You have to let go of something in order for something to take its place, but isn't it easier to hold on to the wrong things until the right thing comes along? I have a theory that until the right guy comes along I'll have fun with the wrong guys. Then I remember my taste in guys is atrocious. It would take the right guy hitting me over the head with a brick for me to realize it is him. I just have to have fair that the universe is a lot smarter than I am.

Just when we think we’ve figured things out, the universe throws us a curve ball. So we have to improvise, we find happiness in unexpected places, we find our way back to the things that matter the most. The universe is funny that way, sometimes it just has a way of making sure we wind up exactly where we belong.
