mommy dearest
It's been a weird weekend. I got a call from my brother on Thursday night telling me that my mom was okay...but. Those phone calls are terrifying, for the record. Evidently my mom was in so much pain she couldn't move and needed to be ambulanced to the hospital. Apparently she has pancreatitis. It took a few days and many tests to discover that it was caused by gallstones. She is still in the hospital. I was finally able to speak with her yesterday. She got on the phone and I just broke down. She couldn't really talk much due to not being able to eat or drink for three days but I think she knew I needed to hear her voice. I just want to give her a hug. From here we are waiting to hear if she needs to have surgery. I'll keep you updated.
My friends have been great. So many positive thoughts are being sent to her from Denver, Colorado.
On Friday Tom had gotten us tickets to the rodeo. Despite being exhausted it was really fun :). I haven't been to a rodeo since Junior year of high school. He knew I would be tired so he came with coffee and flowers. What a nice guy.
On Saturday I...did something? Oh! I officially signed up for T-Mobile thanks to my friends in Northern Idaho...er, customer service reps. I should have my phone by Tuesday at the latest. I'm so excited! Later that day Carly, James, Tristian, Ryan, Tom and I all went to Strange Brewery (delicious) then Cherry Cricket (also delicious).
Today I signed up a Sam's Club membership. I feel old. I also watched WAY too much Sex and the City. Need to stop doing that but really excited to engulf myself into West Wing :)

Maturity
I'm not there yet, but this is the kind of person I want to be.
Sometimes I am not the problem and it is not my place to make their problems bigger.
In life you need to wish others well.
Continue to send them positive thoughts and occasionally send them on their way.

Associating
Hi friends-
I adore three day weekends. Can I just throw that out there? It's even better when the weather is perfect.
On Friday night a lot of people from work went out to celebrate Kirk's 36th Birthday. It was fun we went to Blake St. Tavern then headed to Sam's #3 because I HAD to have pancakes. The next day I woke up bright and early to go to Red Rocks with Tom. It turned out to be a really nice morning. We stopped and got coffee (needed) and then just hung on Red Rock's stage and talked. From there I met up with Ellie and Lenny to go to Coors Brewery Tour. This is the 3rd time I have been on that tour in 2 months. At this point I could give the tour. It was just great to spend time with them.
After the tour Tom picked me up and we headed to Strange Brewery. Really small place with really good beer. We went to another whiskey place after but I have no idea where it was. Theses places pop up in the middle of nowhere. I need to explore the area I live in more.
On Sunday I went to Kirks for his Birthday dinner. He loves to cook so insisted he did the cooking for his friends on his Birthday. We watched football---even though I swore I was done with it for the season. It's such an addiction. The 49ers won...which is just awful, but it is what it is. I just won't watch the Super Bowl.
Today was spend grocery shopping and doing laundry. Super thrilling...I know. I just needed a day to get things done.
Also...I think this is cute:
T-Besides if we are still associating next fall, you have to make an obligatory trip to Tuscon for a football game.
Me- I'm amused that you used the word associating
T-You can sub in "talking" or "dating" or any other companion related activity...the more significant the better as far as I'm concerned.

Happy 3!
I have been in Denver three years today! Big
hug to those that have made the past three years so special. There have
been ups and downs but moving to Denver is still the best decision I
ever made :)
As I look back on the past few years I cannot help but think of all the people I have met. The people who have passed through my life and provided me with priceless memories. No, not all of the memories are good but at least I am living and trying to get things right. I have some really great friends that I cannot imagine not knowing.
This past year I finished my Master's and moved from a studio into a real apartment. I added a member to my family (Hermione) that I adore. Am I where I want to be? Not yet, but I am a lot closer than I was a year ago.
Cheers to Denver!
"In the end, I've come to believe in something I call "The Physics of the Quest." A force in nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity. The rule of Quest Physics goes something like this: If you're brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you."

for thought
I recently read "So as usual, the male is showing fewer signs of woe in comparison to the
female. But as nature has shown in the past, the male tends to feel it
MUCH later… which explains the phenomenon known as
the "too little, too late" phone call".
Hmm.. I'm not sure what I think about that, but I suppose it could be true. It could also just be what girls tell themselves to make sense out of things that just don't make sense. To get us through the hard parts to a point when we just don't care that they call or text out of the blue. And they always do.
I'm excited to see here this will lead me. I really just have no idea.
"Where have you been all of my life?"

Must love sports
Tom was able to get us tickets to see the Cavs in Denver :) NOT just any tickets...theses were on the floor. Two rows away from the court. It was a complete surprise and he did not tell me where we were sitting until we were at the seats. JUST AWESOME. I just...wow.I have been to many Cavs games in my day, but nowhere near where I sat on Friday night, but the weekend does not stop there.
Tom asked if I wanted to tailgate for the Broncos game. How could I say no to that? I can honestly say that what I did on Saturday is the craziest thing I have done. IT WAS FREEZING! Like 2 degree outside. THAT cold. We started tailgating at 11:00am then decided that going to the game was a must. So that we did. I WENT TO MY FIRST NFL GAME (during the same weekend I sat on the floor for the Cavs game). JUST WOW. No...I could not feel my feet the entire game. It was THAT cold and the Broncos lost (too mad to talk about it) but it was an awesome experience. One that I will NEVER forget. I still cannot believe that this was my weekend. Emotionally I have been upset but this really helped. I know that my life is good and I am so lucky to have such amazing people be a part of it. I'm so excited to see where life goes from here and see what is to come for me is 2013. Cross your fingers that it is epic :)Saturday, January 5, 2013
2013
I'd be lying if I didn't say it was off to a rocky starts but I'm determined to stay optimistic. Everyone I know that is in a relationship or dating someones in Colorado was completely mind f*cked on New Years Eve. Now they are using this weekend to figure out what happened and where to go from here. David and I had a big...geez I don't even know what it was. Not good...that's for sure. It was an awful New Year's Eve...no doubt about it. We have talked about it and will just have to see where things go from here.
I like the odd years better. Be happy people! Live life to the fullest this year (every year). Fall in love, step out of your comfort zone and make memories. You only live once...do it right.
