I wasn't going to write tonight, I'm in one of those moods. You know the blah, over-thinking, and wondering what ifs mood.
A part of things in my life is not going well, but the other parts are. I really like my job. It's leaps and bounds above what I am used to. Seriously. I only wish I would have started sooner.
All in all. I'm meeting some cool people, and I have some great friends. Life isn't black and white. No, I don't know why things turn out the way they do. I suppose there is a reason for everything. In the meantime though I am allowed to be a girl and have bad days.
And when she finally forgets you, don't you dare remember her
I have started to post here a couple times, then didn't have anything to say. Other than to re-cap my weekend which I feel like I ALWAYS do. Is there really more for me to talk about? ha
I LOVED HARRY POTTER. I laughed. I cried. I refuse to accept that it's over.
During the week I have been training and it takes up all my time. All consuming--I come home and just want to sleep. I should start working on Friday? I think? Idk-I'm nervous. I know we have been learning a lot, but it's still going to be intimidating to start working. Always scary starting something new.
In sad news: Borders is closing. It's the end of an era. I remember being little like 6, and spending time in the children's section (insert amazing pop-up doll house books). I pretty much lived there growing up. Then when I was older I was about to spend about a year and half working there. LOVED it-only left because I moved. The books and the co-workers made it great, and I'm said to see a part of my past close. It truly is the end of an era. My thoughts and prayers go out to all my co-workers who lost their jobs.
In other book news: w/ Borders closing I ordered my first Kindle. I just don't have room for books in my small apartment. I know...this is what killed Borders (and that my friends, breaks my heart). So yea, I'll let you know what I think of it. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. I feel like I have gone to the dark side though.
So if you didn't notice from previous posts I found a website with tons of quote pictures---so I'll be posting the ones that caught my attention. OOO I found a all plaque that I adore! It simply states "I love the thought of you and me" It's hanging right when you walk into my apartment.
In regards to the weekend? It was great really good :)
I'm procrastinating on studying for tomorrow. I know right? It's like I'm in school again. How's the new job going? It's good. I no longer dread getting up in the morning and going to a place I can't stand. I'm not banging my head against the desk, or complaining non-stop to my way too supportive friends. I'm meeting some cool people, and learning a lot. Really, it's over load. I could go on a rant about how much better this job is, but I don't think my blog is a proper place to do that. Call me--I'll fill you in.
This weekend was good. Catch-up time with Ashley and Cole. HI ASHLEY! Man, I missed them. We watched Weeds...which I sorta love a lot. I did other stuff too, but it's all a blur. I think this past 3 weeks has been a whirl-wind and I'm just along for the ride.
Jessica asked me to be in her wedding! I'm really honored and excited--more than willing to wear Ohio State colors for her. We have been planning this since 8th grade :)
Harry Potter this week! Yes, I will be at the midnight showing...in 3D. To say I'm excited is true, but I'm also sad. I don't want it to end! Ok I must go study before I fall asleep....ooh oh oh! I forced my oven to work! Well I managed to make pizza...and it didn't burn! The fire alarm didn't go off. Gas Oven-2 Mandy-1 Don't worry people I'll catch up!
I just love this so much it gets it's own blog post. Hey, it's my blog I can do what I want. Yes, it's from Dawson's Creek. Stop judging me.
Joey: And now that this scared little girl no longer follows me wherever I go, I miss her. I do. 'Cause there are things I wanna tell her... to relax, to lighten up, that it is all going to be ok. I want her to know that meeting people who like you, who understand you, who actually accept you for who you are, will become an increasingly rare occurrence. Jen, Jack, Audrey, Andie, Pacey, and Dawson. These people who contributed to who I am, they are with me wherever I go, and as history gets rewritten in small ways with each passing day, my love for them only grows. Because the truth is... it was the best of times. Mistakes were made, hearts were broken, harsh lessons learned, but all of that has receded into fond memory now. How does it happen? Why are we so quick to forget the bad and romanticize the good? Maybe it's because we need to believe that the time we spent together actually meant something, that we were there for each other in a time in our lives that defined us all, a time in our lives that we will never forget. I can't swear this is exactly how it happened. But this is how it felt
Today was a really long day. I am going on maybe 3 hours of sleep. The flights were good-it's just exhausting. Then I had to catch a ride on the bus from the airport to Stapleton. All I wanted was Chipoltle, but it's closed due to the holiday. URG! I was annoyed-it's one of those days. I was starving so I ordered a pizza and unpacked. I'm trying so hard to not fall asleep...I HAVE to be able to sleep tonight. Why you ask?
Tomorrow is my first day at the new job!
I'm nervous. Don't get me wrong but I'm excited, the job seems awesome (have I mentioned it's NOT admissions?) I'm just excited to meet new people and work downtown. I can walk to work now!
Myrtle Beach was a lot of fun, and a lot of mom time (which is good. I love her, and miss her like crazy!). More than I have gotten in a year and a half. Really though it was relaxing. Just really good to touch base. It's funny I spend A LOT of time complaining that I live in the Western time zone yet I hated being in the East time zone. It's prob better, but the people involved in my day to day life were two hours behind me. I didn't like that feeling. Somewhere in this past year and a half Denver became home. Yes, I talk about leaving. One day I probably will, but right now Denver is exactly where I want to be. Which is good, I mean a friend and I established today that DC makes you fat. I have no idea why I'm here, but I'm happy. I think that's what counts.
The following song is officially my summer anthem-it sums up my vacation to a t (minus the she part).
Gonna put the the world away for a minute
Pretend I don't live in it
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away
Had sweet love but I lost it
She got too close so I fought her
Now I'm lost in the world trying to find me a better way
Wishing I was knee deep in the water somewhere
Got the blue sky breeze and it don't seem fair
Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair
Sunrise there's a fire in the sky
Never been so happy
Never felt so high
And I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise
I hope everyone has a fantastic 4th of July. Enjoy the fireworks for me! The idea of getting dressed and going out sounds more exhausting than I already am. Thank you all for the invites, but I spent the day in the sky. That has to count for something? There is something about the 4th of July. I can always remember where I am and what I was doing this time last year. All the years. Today isn't where I wanted to be on this day, this year. Though, I do believe that I am right where I'm supposed to be. The questions is...where are you?
You can ask the universe for all the signs you want, but ultimately, we see what we want to see when we're ready to see it.
Sometimes someone comes into your life that changes everything. Raises the standards, makes you laugh, and makes you feel like you.
I am filled with what can only be described as relief. Relief that I got to this place, that this is my life.
So just live, make mistakes and have wonderful times, but never ever second guess who you are, where you have been and most importantly where it is that you are going.
Just when we think we’ve figured things out, the universe throws us a curve ball. So we have to improvise, we find happiness in unexpected places, we find our way back to the things that matter the most. The universe is funny that way, sometimes it just has a way of making sure we wind up exactly where we belong.
