Common sense is not so common
This is me NOT cleaning my room.
So this week I have been working ( I know right? ) So far I really like it. I like the people I work with and the job itself is right up my ally. It reminds me of sorority recruitment--seriously. Other than work I have been reading for my internship, because I am convinced I can do both and looking for apartments. It's strange to think I have only been here 4 months and yet my life is so...full. Well I mean it's missing a couple parts, but that will all work out when it's supposed to.
My Grandfather died this past week. My father's father so I don't know the guy. Wouldn't recognize him if I passed him on the street. My heart goes out to his family (No I am not his family, family is more than blood-it's a connection and I don't have that with them). So yea I was looking at his Obituary and low and behold there was a grandchild listed that I didn't know...right after me and Ryan. So I started researching, finally I gave up and emailed my grandmother.
This is her response :
Hello Amanda, Thank you for writing, we thought about you a lot, more than you could ever guess. Tracy was adopted by your Dad and his 2nd wife at the age of 12. She had a very hard life and they tried to make things easier for her. Thinking of you, Grandma
There is so much wrong with this I'm not sure where to start. Let's begin with my name, everyone who knows me knows I go by Mandy. I have for years. I'm just going to skip the thinking about me part because it's a lie. Ha now we get to the good stuff my "dad" adopted a girl my exact age to give her a better life---13 years ago. So ok I have a step-sister...That no one told me about (And yes they have had opportunities to tell us). Anyways she was adopted because my father wanted to give her a better life. Common sense if you have two BIOLOGICAL kids and you can't take care them you probably should not adopt another one. Just a thought. She ends with Grandma, a term I have NEVER called her. I was never angry with the Gusemans, that is until this week when I found out I have a step sister no one bothered to tell me about. Awesome.

Apartment search begins!
I promise I will be better about updating this. It just hasn't been a priority. Like I said I'll work on it.
ANYWAYS this past week I spent a lot of time driving to and from Colorado Springs for training. Blah. Colorado Springs is pretty, but I have a soft spot for Denver. Training went as good as training can go. I actually start doing my job on Tuesday. I'm kind of nervous.
I started my apartment search. Needless to say I want a roommate. It is cheaper, and I can get a better apartment. I just need to find one lol. What do I want in an apartment? Well I want off street parking (you really never realize how amazing this is until you live in a city) and an in suit washer and dryer. I don't want to pay $2.50 to do a load of laundry. Those are the musts. As for bonuses I would also like a nice view, exposed bricks and I want to live in walking distance of cool places (maybe this is a must--I'm not sure). I like the capital hill area, but it is older and hard to find parking. idk I have started looking early so I don't feel stressed. I am going to take my time and explore all my options.
I have been watching Survivor. I LOVE this freaking show. I forgot how much :) It's been on for 20 seasons. I should really try to go on the show for a season--or at least watch it more regularly.

What a week!
This was my last week of freedom/not yet an adult. I start work on Monday. This past weekend was a great end to the past 3 months.
Thursday I interned and then I hung out at Tom's for a while and watched 500 Days of Summer (great movie fyi) then we went to happy hour with Chris, Mere and Kyle at the Irish Snug. It was a lot of fun :)
Friday Aunt Deb came into town. We had Pei Wei for dinner and just all hung out.

Saturday Mere, Kyle, Sally and I headed to Fort Collins to go Hiking with Tom and Gabe. We went to Horsetooth Mountain. I was thinking it was going to be a nice short hike. Not so much it took us 5 hours to hike up-hill 6 miles (In Mandy miles this translates to like 50 miles). I almost died. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in a very long time. Thankfully everyone especially Gabe was really supportive and I made it to the very top! The views were spectacular and needless to say I am VERY proud of myself..I may even hike again. Maybe. That night Sally, Mere, Kyle and I went to the Cherry Cricket. Such great food after a very physical day.
Sunday was also good. Other than being sore beyond belief. Me and Sally headed to Cinco in the Park. It's a big Mexican festival. We met up with PJ and Adam. It was a day of really good food and good company. We stopped at a 2 story liquor store on the way back to Sally's but then me and Adam literally ran two blocks and power walked the rest of our way to Sally's to catch the end of the Cavs game. This was a challenge all on it's own because I'm so sore moving hurts, but I did it.
Have I mentioned how much I love it here?
