Life is happening.

Hi Friends!

FYI---A lot more wedding pictures have been posted to Facebook in case you haven't seen them.

My friend, Felicia is going to do a photo shoot for Tom and me in Dallas at the end of June. She just started a photography studio. I'll be in my wedding dress with a jean jacket, pearls and cowboy boots. Tom will be in jeans, a blue suit jacket and a white dress shirt with his boots. I think its going to be fun! We liked the pictures from the ceremony but we want pictures that really show our personality and I will use any excuse to wear my dress again :) Its a tradition we hope to carry on every year. It'll be nice to see how we change and what new additions may come in the future.

Send positive vibes to my mom. She has a doctors appointment today. First one since the heart attack. She has questions but she is feeling better. Just becomes horse is she talks to much and gets tired easily. We think this may be due to her medication. I'm glad Tom and I will be in Ohio next month to see her. My cousin is having a memorial for her dad on the 28th. We are going to Cedar Point with her and her husband on the 29th then spending a few days with my family, friends and showing Tom around Ohio. On the way home we may spend a couple of days in Nashville but I think we are leaning towards St. Louis. I love Nashville but Tom's mom's family lives in St. Louis and he hasn't been there in years. It would be good to spend some time with his family. His aunt passed recently and we weren't able to attend the funeral. His cousin is also pregnant with twin girls! So exciting.  We'll have to see how everything pans out.

Waiting for the temperature to sky rocket. So far the heat has been fine but I'm sure that will change. I mean it is Texas.

I do!

This is way late. I'm sorry! Things are finally calming down so I should be getting back on track. Lets recap, shall we?

We're married! The ceremony was wonderful and all we could have ever wanted. It was difficult for me to step back and relinquish control but I'm so glad I did. They handled everything and the Pastor was fantastic. The bridesmaids looked wonderful. I couldn't have selected better dresses. The flowers were exactly what I wanted and the right shades of pink and purple. The ceremony was sweet in the best way. Tom knew I was on the verge of an emotional melt down. My mom and my brother were both there which was enough to put me over the edge, not to mention it was my wedding day. We looked each other in the eye the entire time and periodically would make faces at each other. Anyone who has spent any time with us knows that we do that ALL of the time. We also have an inside joke involving the word all and I'm sure that came out in the vows. There was a lot of laughter and love in that room. Everyone said they love it and we did it right. The dinner after the ceremony was delicious. Everyone clapped and cheered as we walked in with Tom's family. It was wonderful.

The entire weekend is a blur. We spent ALL of our time with family and friends. I'm so glad this was not a honeymoon. Tom and I were only alone to sleep. We juggled his family, my family and our friends. It was so great to see so many familiar faces that I missed dearly. The days leading up to the wedding we were having second thoughts about having such a small wedding, we kept thinking of more and more friends we wanted there. After the weekend we were both glad it was smaller. We would have love to see more loved ones but we were stretched so thin as it was.

I wouldn't recommend having a Bachelorette party the  night before your wedding. I was really nervous about the wedding and didn't feel well. I ended up cutting the night short. If it had been a week prior that wouldn't have been the case. We also ended up at a female strip show. Not sure how that happened?

My mom and my brother are concentrating on healing. They've both spent the last week in California. I feel like this whole year has really changed my perspective on life and death. I'm still dealing with the death of a dear uncle and now all of this. I have a lot of fear of everything that could happen and I'm so worried about...everything. I hope with time that fades. Tom and I are going to Ohio at the end of June to celebrate my uncle's life and spend time with family. I'm looking forward to it.

Now we are home and happily MARRIED! He's awesome. I don't know how I ended up with such a GOOD guy. I'm happy. I not only gained a life partner but a mom and dad that are great. I love my new sister and I'm just so excited to see what the future holds. Ya'll have followed me through a lot the last 4 years...bad dates, crushes, jobs, moving and everything else.  I'm excited to see what the next 4 years hold. Hope you all stay tuned with me.

Life is messy

My mom is flying to Vegas today. Send prayers that everything goes well. The doctors aren't thrilled that she is flying but they gave her the ok. We won't know until later today if my brother is cleared to fly. Life is messy and really scary sometimes but it can also be pretty great. The past six months have been really difficult. I lost my uncle to a heart attack. Tom's aunt and friend passed away within weeks of one another. My brother had the accident and my mom suffered a hear attack. It is so easy to concentrate on all of that, but there has also been a lot of good too! Tom and I got engaged. We moved into a great apartment and I'm working at a job I really enjoy. We fall more in love with Texas everyday and I have met some really amazing friends.  It's time to concentrate on the good.

I'm getting married in 3 days to my best friend. I'll be in Vegas surrounded by my favorite people. People who have shown me so much love and support through everything. I'll be marrying into a family that has welcomed me with open arms. Tom is by far my favorite everything and I am so excited to marry him. He's handled the last few months perfectly. I fell in love with Tom the night my mom got sick (last year). He was there for me and made a bad situation better. He still does that, everyday. Life won't always be easy or good but I'll get through it as long and I have him by my side.

Three cheers for my 7:00am flight tomorrow. We'll take a lot of pictures.

Thanks

I really appreciate everyone who has been there for me and more importantly my family. From here, they can concentrate on healing. I hope my wedding this weekend is an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate life. There is so much to be grateful for <3

Happy Mother's Day

Hug your mom. Seriously, if you live near her you should hug her.

My mom had a heart attack yesterday. She had to be life flighted to the Cleveland Clinic. Thank God she was with my brother when this happened. He knew what to do and additional help got there quickly. They were able to reverse the heart attack, even though it was a big one. There is no permanent damage done to her heart. They put a stint in the clogged artery. She should be released from the hospital today. This comes just days after my brother's second surgery on his hand (May 7th). He's still in a lot of pain but from here the worst is behind him. Now he can concentrate on healing.

At this point, neither my mom or my brother have been approved to fly to my wedding....in 6 days.  Delaying the wedding is out of the question due to the fact that everyone is coming from out of state. Flights have been booked, hotel rooms reserved and the wedding has already been paid for.  I just can't imagine the big day without my family there, without my mom. I'm just so grateful she is alright, I don't want her to compromise her health to get to Vegas. I just...really need her there. I don't know the best solution for that.

...these past few weeks have been really hard on me. Between my brother, my mom and trying to get everyone finished for the wedding. I'm emotionally exhausted. I'm glad I had everything planned for the wedding in advance. I couldn't imagine doing anything else for it right now. I don't know how to balance being excited for the wedding with everything else going on.

Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate all the support people have shown me the past couple of weeks. It is helpful.

Love you all
