Office Olympics

Team 14 after we won Office Olympics!

Who knew a work event would be fun? I competed in a memory game and I kicked ass. It doesn't matter but I have the ability to make anything more competitive than it needs to be. If you can see the poster we used Barbie and Ken doll bodies with our heads. It works because our manager is Ken. HAHA get it? Whatever, its cool.

I'm trying to re-connect with campaign friends. This was sparked after reading my blog from two years ago. I miss them. Lyndsay and I are getting together in September and I'm seeing Brenden next weekend. September will also bring Ellie to town. Hello, haunted houses! Sometimes I take for granted how many awesome people I have met in Colorado. I just need it to rain more--please :)

Ok, I need to be doing homework right now.

Menver

This is probably going to come off as bitter. I assure you it's not. Look at it as an observation.

I have read the articles about how Denver is a great city to live in if you're a single female. The girl to guy ration is in our favor. Actually, the ratio is about even. Though apparently there are more single guys than single girls. Too bad they are all gay.  BUT for the sake of argument lets say there are TONS of single, straight guys in Denver. They are not exactly desirable.

Let me explain. Jen (single friend) and I were walking to lunch. We passed two very hot guys and both almost stopped in our tracks. Seriously, they were hot. Then it hit us, who cares? I've seen many hot guys in my day, but it's been a really long time. I for the life of my cannot remember the last time I passed a hot guy. Sure, guys here are cute. They just aren't stop in your tracks, I need to catch my breath, whoa you're hot kind of guys! Almost stopping in my tracks in proof enough that there are not enough hot guys here. I'm not saying I'm God's gift to Earth, but I don't think the guys here should necessarily warrant the name Menver.

The articles don't tell you that the guys spend a lot of time drinking beer and hanging out with their dogs. They tend to be outdoorsy and more laid back. AND it's Denver so they may be high. Many girlfriends have told me that they guys will look but they do not approach them. I'm glad I am not the only one who has notices that.

Guys in Denver...are different. All of my single friends here don't go into relationships, rather they casually
date and see many people. Which is fine, but not my style. Though, I know it only takes one. I was talking to a student who is moving to Akron, Ohio (poor girl) and she was asking how the guys are in Ohio. I've never been asked that. I had to think about it. Finally I said they weren't good enough for me to stay. That's the truth. I could have taken different paths there, but they weren't right.

Things haven't been right in Denver...yet. If I look back on the whole situation here it is a comical mess of miscommunication. I still don't understand the J situation, and I don't care to. That was almost three years ago at this point (whoa). There was a guy I'm better nothing thinking about, because I don't understand that situation either. The difference is I probably still care. Then there was C. That situation still bothers me. I was mad about a date and then everything was just over before it was even started. I hate how it all went down.

Through all of this what the heck is HE doing?

this n' that

I need to remember these moments. These moments of pure joy when I am positive I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I'm sorry I haven't posted in two weeks. I have been all consumed by the Olympics. I laughed, I cried and I loved every second. This week will be one of withdraw. I could not be more excited for Rio in 4 years. Just a good feeling to know that I still love the Olympics regardless of how old I am. Wonder where I will be 4 years from now?

I have been thinking a lot about things recently, and I'm not really coming up with my of anything. I think I know what I want to do, but then I change my mind. It's so frustrating. I just know it's time, I just don't know there where.  Well I think I do know, but I also keep running from that. I need to stop running. I also need to stop listening to everyone and figure out what is best for ME.
"Sooner or later you come to the point where you have to choose who and what you want to be, and I made a decision not so long ago to be happy." - LeAnn Rimes, "sign of life"
I'm very sick of the heat and the damn sun EVERY singly day. I would kill for a day of rain and gray skies. I don't remember the last time we had that here...probably because Denver has over 300 days of sun a year. Have I destroyed myself for other cities? No I don't think so. If anything I think I appreciate rain and gray and will thrive in...a different environment.

As of Sunday I am 7 weeks away from graduation. I finished two more classes last week. I just want to be done more than anyone could ever know. I was going to do a ton of homework this weekend, but I didn't. I really wasn't production. I like to refer to it as the Olympic suck---aka it sucked up ALL of my time.

GOOD NEWS. The Broncos are back! At least with pre-season games. The real stuff will start soon enough and I couldn't be happier. I really do credit the Broncos with getting me through the first half of my graduate program. The second half...well that was harder.

Ok, it's been fun. I'll check in soon.
